Dear Diary

Dear Diary, March 21, 2011

Today is the first day of spring. We have been here for four months and twenty one days. This house is so cold and big, I miss home.

I turn sixteen soon, I wish I were back at home to celebrate it with my friends.

Not even my father came to stay. He hired a nanny, a butler, a tutor, a groundskeeper and a maid. All while he is off working in the Big Apple at a prestigious law firm. He convinced me I would be much happier if I moved somewhere quiet, away from all the chaos of the city.

This place is like a castle, with high ceilings and four floors of rooms upon rooms. My room is at the highest point in the house; it’s a tower-like room. Maybe I should be waiting for my prince to come.

From here I could see the whole property. In the far distance over some dead trees I could see a small lake. Surrounding that lake and all throughout the property were miles and miles of trees.

There were signs of winter everywhere, and I could not wait for spring to finally take over.

A little closer to the house in our direct yard was a huge garden. It was enclosed by a wall, with an iron gate. Mom always told me that I had a green thumb when it came to plants; I was determined to figure out what she meant.

Tomorrow it’s supposed to be sunny with temperatures hopefully nearing sixty, and if I am lucky enough I will finally be able to get some fresh air for a while. I haven't really gotten any since we have been here; well only if you count a few trips to town with James the butler to get groceries. Other than that I have been stuck here all winter just waiting for the first sign of warm weather, so that I can finally find out why I am so drawn to that garden.

Things to ponder: Find out what having a green thumb means.

An entry a day-keep writers block away

I have decided that as en exercise every day I will try to write. My idea is to create a story, and just let it flow and each day add to it. So far the idea is a Dear Diary story about a 15 year old girl discovering her magical abilities. I am just going to let it flow day by day and see where it takes me. I am hoping to keep up with this... so let's give it a whirl....

About:

I will always love to write, there for although half my stories don't get finished I would like to post them to see if they are even worth being continued. So for my first post I will link The Time Of Awakening which is on BookRix. It has gotten 27 stars so far, and some really amazing comments, so I hope to spread the word through Blogger of my writing, hoping like everyone else that maybe a story will get noticed eventually. So here's part I of The Time Of Awakening.
